-Aesthetics -Story and lore -The Narrative ™ -The variety- there's literally a little something for everyone. I notice talking to a lot of CV fans that everyone has "their" game and there's something really neat about it to me. -The characters -Fun gameplay and combat
AND MORE... I just think there's so much in the games' favor and everyone has a reason to get invested and enjoy them no matter where their tastes lie.

- Fun gameplay - Cool art - I love a good story about generational trauma / family drama / blood feuds with monsters in it, what can I say - Despite getting into a LOT of vampire media this has to be like one of maybe 3 I've encountered that treat the eastern European characters like actual people and not some kind of caricature & out of the three one is a Russian film so that doesn't count 😭 the lack of cultural accuracy disappoints me even though it's all you could expect, but like, the bar is on the floor here so the bare minimum being met still means a lot to me
- It's timeline is so long I get lots of opportunities to apply Historical Knowledge to it to look further into it which is fun - I've made a lot of friends through having it as a common interest :)

Themes and Motifs. And awesome games. But man those themes and cycles. And also very much the care and love that went into alot of the games, as well as the skill in the pixel art and sprite animations! It's nothing compared to today but I love how so much holds up today, and still looks and plays amazingly well. Castlevania is the perfect games series for me, especially if you look at what I like out of other media. its the perfect intersection of story and games which I get rewarded for analysing to my heart's content.

A mixture of themes and motifs, the art, and the character designs. Even the simplest design still gives a full sense of character, and also some of the vampires dressing up like "hello yes I am a vampire you can tell by my bat wing shaped clothes/armour" is far too funny to me. There's probably more, but I've not got much happening upstairs currently.

I like Gothic aesthetics, and the exploration aspect of metroidvanias appeals to me.

the gothic vampire aesthetic is cool, the gameplay loop is fun and addictive, the music slaps, and the characters make me sick in the head

- it appeals to both hardcore retro gamers (classics) and players who prefer exploration (Igavanias) - the aesthetic! Ayami Kojima's wonderful art and intricate character designs, Michiru Yamane's iconic tracks (plus other underrated composers such as Soshiro Hokkai, Masahiko Kimura and Yasuhiro Ichihashi), the environments - Dracula's castle is an alluring and creepy place in most of the games (HoD having my favorite otherworldly vibe), but I also love when you travel around, such as Bloodlines, CoD, technically PoR and OoE
- the plots are deceptively simple, but every game carries its own theme, and most characters are deeper than they might appear - and if they're really not, they're still charming :3 - the background lore, a whole clan cursed to fight Dracula for a whole millennium, the generational trauma building up, other people forced to step up for whatever reasons, outcasts seeking companions and their place in the world... so good. stimulates the creativity
- the games are fun. Simple as it is. There are very few games that I tried and didn't like at all, overall the main games have a stable quality :) - I also second how it's so nice to see that each fan has "their" own game and characters that they love to death <3

I LOVE the central tragedy of the games and I love cycles and I love "to understand the tragedy you must first know there was love" and I love generational trauma and grief and I love breaking free of cycles to be yourself and- I guess you could say I'm hooked in by the story ! I also LOVE character designs in there, and the music, and I do like the gameplay of the more metroidvania ones at least (reactions to the gameplay of other games pending, though I suspect whenever I actually get my hands on and play Lament of Innocence it might just shoot its way to the top). Also I just really love vampires and the supernatural. And they have some pretty good looking vampires in there .
Oh content creationwise I think a lot of the stuff I've finished and posted before is at least somewhat silly, but I loooove working on things about character relationships [generalized]. Sometimes this is ship content/content that could be read romantically and would still get the point. Sometimes it is just extremely platonic, maybe with background romance that isn't the point - lots of Arikado and Soma's fatherson and sonfather situation, also at least two different fics in which Julius meets an earlier Belmont from the cycle who gets to be like Oh No at the realization that it continued past them/continued so long.

something painfully incredibly awesome about it, i think while id have a hard time making a list its very easy to say how cool it all is and how easy it is to get lost in the world of it especially with the variety it has between titles gif unrelated
