not the most out there but its always a fun one to share that i imagine the castles magic as some sort of radiation (not in a literal sense but it feels like it functions that way). the single line here "transformed into a giant insect by exposure to the castle's magic" is the largest bit of evidence i have about it and its always been cool to think about. the implication the castle's magic would turn someone into a big worm just by being there says alot about other potential concepts involving corruption in its presence etc. its also fun to factor in crosses and other "holy" items serving as protection against this, i think its cool to think about especially in the context of christian imagery in castlevania being used mostly aesthetically and to represent "holy" forces etc. and to be an opposite to darkness as just an element. i know with ideas like this that are a single line in a bestiary alot of liberties can be taken especially in translation but itd be also cool to know if anyone else had relevant information or ideas about this :)

yessss literally so true I love to think about how that would've effected the Belmonts and how they're considered to be like, supernatural by most people.

Kind of an specific one here; Soma has pretty good knowledge of genetics out of dealing with some supersticious jerks in the hispanic/latino side of his fam and having to explain that no he wasn't cursed at birth he just got albinism. You can guess how this would end up affecting him in aria :)
Pd: Him after dawn in a family reunion getting bullshit and him just looking at the culprit straight in the eye with a serene yet subtly smug smile "Yea I devour the souls of demons and command their will, and ?"

Inb4 Castlevania shows up in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in 1999 That would be really really cool to me actually
In Aria, Arikado says that Mina will surely die if Soma can't get everyone out of the eclipse soon enough. In later dialogue if you come back to talk to her, her condition seems to progressively worsen. The Zombie Soldiers are another direct example of the Castle corrupting the things within it, as is Gergoth (described as "warped by magic" in Portrait of Ruin and Harmony of Despair.)

Outside of my smorgasbord of "Morris Baldwin is an abusive jackass, actually" headcanons, my most unfounded headcanon goes thus:
An unknown time before Lament of Innocence, Joachim Armster raped a human woman. The woman gave birth to a dhampir, went "Oh hell naw, you're not getting any halfbreed angst on my watch!" and raised the child lovingly. The dhampir became a protector of humans, married a human, had a baby, that baby grew up and married a human, they had a baby, that baby married a human...
Skip 800 years or so in the future, and Nathan Graves is thoroughly unaware that he has (extremely distant) vampire ancestry. By now the vampiric blood is so diluted that he's indistinguishable from a normal human. The only thing that remains of Joachim's genetic legacy is the silver hair and a proclivity towards magic.

OH ALSO the reason arikado and hammer arent in the java mobile version of dawn of sorrow is because they were off on a spinoff duo adventure that we will never see. arikado managed to grind 6 new crissaegrims and rose his crissaegrim count from 72 to 78. there were multiple car chases and two different cult encounters. hammer acquired a positron rifle

This is so out there not because it's crazy but because of CotM being excluded.
The Hunter group with the Baldwins and Graves was one of the organizations around the absence of the Belmonts. They weren't a formal organization so they weren't really on the map. When Nathan killed Dracula, his remains were somehow acquired by Ecclesia, probably under the pretense of guarding them.
Also, the Hunter Whip being made of alchemy is a simple, not quite as out there theory that I like. I also think alchemy was used on Shanoa to make her able to channel glyphs in her body instead of in a magic item, since it's more permanent than most magic in the series.

The first one I agree with, although my timeline splitting headcanons mean in the main timeline the Baldwin group didn't kill Dracula... But OOE didn't happen in the non-canon timeline, which evens it out i guess lol As for Shanoa, I don't think it's necessarily alchemy but I do think the process of "inscribing" her was very painful. I think that since in most other cases magic casting requires some enchanted item- staffs, tomes, etc. creating someone who could cast magic without needing anything but their body was one of Barlowe's biggest discoveries. However, to make this come to pass, he had to make her the weapon itself...

I think about Julius and his upbringing a weird amount and aside from some common ideas about him being trained by Jonathan or something I always imagined that outside of his generally serious personality in game he’s actually a pretty eccentric guy just based on his design. Very fashionable maybe even to a fault, owns a lot of macabre things, etc. We don’t get a lot of details on the Belmont Clan in modern day but I feel like its importance and legacy as vampire hunters granted him a lot of things growing up that informed his tastes to the point where he has those tastes during his amnesia period. I think about him as very jovial too but you don’t see that when he’s in Hunt the Night mode. Hell if you wanted to you could even explore like his potential upbringing as a Belmont, the values that may have been drilled into him growing up, how this may clash with his personality as a wandering amnesiac that is probably pretty worldly and has met a lot of people, but doesn’t carry the baggage of being a Belmont, and how these clash during the story, like when he knows he needs to eliminate Dracula but still holds back on Soma. Idk I just care him a lot

Idk I just care him a lot I'd agree with a lot of this. I definitely think he has Weird/Cool Uncle Vibes. Also so glad you mentioned that he held back on Soma, I love how that fight is almost a subtle rejection of the "eternal battle" between Dracula and the Belmonts as it has existed up to that point.
